ATLANTIC REGION NEWS
Greetings; Members, Associates and Friends.
This coming Thursday the 24th of Nov., at Minglers, we will meet for our regular Black Hat Luncheon, 1230 for 1300 hrs. To ensure a successful afternoon we will celebrate "The Return of our President" who fortunately escaped from Kenya last week, and is presently "Re-Adjusting" himself. to that end we hope to see you this Thursday.
Points To Note:
1. DECEMBER 21st, 2011. The 128th RCD Birthday Luncheon, 1230 for 1300 hrs, at Minglers. Best turnout possible, last year we were at 40+ and went home "Happy".
2. A.A.R. The Armour School 75th Anniversary Celebrations. Friday 4th Nov. The School held its all Ranks Dinner and Dance in Fredericton's City new Convention Center. Max turnout by the members of the School, plus dignitaries and guests. Good food and a loud band too boot. Perhaps a "Missed Opportunity" to fully show-case "The Armour School" at the new Center, was the complete absence of "Military Colors", Tpr's in Ceremonial Dress, Regimental Flags or an armoured vehicle at the entrance. A small point but Frederictonian's relay like to see this type of show, plus its good publicity for the School and the Armed Forces.
Saturday 5th of Nov. The School put on a very good Parade and an Armour Vehicle Roll Past on the "Base-sacred-parking-ground", it was good to see some tank tracks and dirt on the pavement. The Roll Past lead vehicle "Lynx" was C.C. by Mr. Joseph Cloake, and 2nd Veh. "Cougar" C.C. by Mr. Denis Arsenault and Mr. Allen Hulberg, 3rd Veh. Old WWII Recovery driven by Mr. Bill Mullholland. The Commandant LCol James Malejczuk followed in a Leopard Tank with the remaining School vehicles. Good Show, Good Tanker Stuff. A reception for all was held in J-7, Armour School lines. The 75th Anniversary Celebrations, by all accounts was "A very Good Show".
Yours,
