RHQ Field Troop

Field Troop is comprised of roughly 15 soldiers, positions like Commanding Officer’s Driver, Regimental Sergeant Major’s driver, and Intelligence Master Corporal. There are various other jobs working in Ops and Training and of course field troops who do a variety of tasks. Such jobs involve vehicle maintenance, supporting other squadrons with training, various driving tasks, setting up and tearing down modular tents for exercises. At most times you can expect to only have about 5-7 troops on the ground as many of us get tasked out, just recently Field Troop was tasked to support TMST (Theatre Mission Specific Training) at 2 Field Ambulance to act as casualties and local population. It was a really good training aid for the new troops that arrived at the Regiment just before Christmas to see how our soldiers train to go overseas. As the year progresses we are certain to be kept busy as more squadrons prepare to deploy to Afghanistan.
